🍓 Perfect sweet and salty combination that brings together the crunch of pretzels, creaminess of cheesecake, and freshness of strawberries in one irresistible dessert
🥧 Classic potluck favorite that’s sure to impress guests with its beautiful layers and unique flavor profile that keeps everyone coming back for more

  • Total Time: 4 hours
  • Yield: 15 servings

Ingredients

– 6 oz strawberry-flavored gelatin mix

– 2 cups boiling water

– 12 tablespoons unsalted butter

– 1/4 cup granulated sugar for crust

– 2 cups crushed salted pretzels

– 8 oz cream cheese, softened

– 1/2 cup granulated sugar for cream layer

– 8 oz whipped topping, thawed

– 1 lb fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

Instructions

1-Dissolve the 6 oz strawberry gelatin mix in 2 cups boiling water; stir until fully dissolved and let cool to room temperature. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

2-Crush pretzels to a coarse texture (place in a sealed bag and roll with a rolling pin).

3-Melt 12 tablespoons butter in a saucepan, stir in 1/4 cup sugar, then mix in the 2 cups crushed pretzels. Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of a glass baking dish and bake 10 minutes at 350°F (175°C). Cool completely.

4-Beat 8 oz softened cream cheese with 1/2 cup sugar until fluffy and light. Fold in the 8 oz thawed whipped topping (or folded-in whipped cream substitute). Spread this cream mixture evenly over the cooled pretzel crust, sealing the edges to help keep the crust crisp. Refrigerate about 30 minutes.

5-Gently stir the sliced strawberries into the room-temperature gelatin, then carefully pour this strawberry-gelatin mixture over the chilled cream layer. Refrigerate at least 2 hours (best if allowed to chill up to 24 hours) until the gelatin is set.

Notes

🥄 Use a glass pan for easy serving and reduced sticking – the layers are easier to see and serve cleanly
🔒 Seal the cream layer to the edges to keep the pretzel crust crisp and prevent gelatin seepage that can make the crust soggy
🍓 Use fresh strawberries for best texture; if using frozen, thaw and drain well to avoid excess liquid that can prevent gelatin from setting properly
