Ingredients
– 2 pounds chicken wings (split party wings or whole wings)
– 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 1 cup sliced or chopped white onions
– ½ cup chopped green peppers
– 1 cup chicken broth
– 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– ¼ cup all-purpose flour
– ½ cup heavy whipping cream or half and half
– Additional garlic powder for gravy, amount to taste
Instructions
1-Place 1 cup sliced or chopped white onions and ½ cup chopped green peppers at the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish.
2-Lay the seasoned wings over the onions and peppers.
3-Drizzle 1 cup chicken broth into the dish along the edges.
4-Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
5-Remove the foil, take the wings out, and set them aside. Keep the drippings, broth, peppers, and onions for the gravy.
6-In a saucepan over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons unsalted butter and 1 tablespoon olive oil.
7-Add the onions and sauté for 3-4 minutes until they’re translucent and fragrant.
8-Gradually stir in ¼ cup all-purpose flour to avoid clumping.
9-Add ½ cup heavy whipping cream or half and half, the reserved drippings, chicken broth, and a bit more garlic powder.
10-Stir continuously until the sauce thickens, then return the wings to the pan with the gravy.
11-Bake uncovered for an additional 15-25 minutes, until the chicken hits 165 degrees Fahrenheit inside.

🍖 Split party wings cook more evenly than whole wings.
🌶️ Season wings to your taste with smoked paprika, garlic powder, and your favorite rub.
🥄 For thinner gravy, substitute some heavy cream with milk or half and half.
❄️ Store leftovers refrigerated for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
🌡️ Always use a meat thermometer to ensure wings reach safe internal temperature.
