🌢️ This Pepper Steak Stir Fry Recipe offers a quick and flavorful meal with tender flank steak and crisp bell peppers.
🍽️ It’s perfect for a speedy dinner that brings restaurant-quality taste home in about 30 minutes.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

– 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (divided)

– 1 red bell pepper (cored and sliced into strips)

– 1 green bell pepper (cored and sliced into strips)

– 1 1/4 pounds flank steak (thinly sliced)

– 2 teaspoons minced garlic

– 1 teaspoon minced ginger

– Salt and pepper (to taste)

– 1/4 cup soy sauce

– 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar

– 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch

Instructions

1-First, heat 1 teaspoon of the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the sliced bell peppers and cook them for 3-4 minutes until they are just tender, then set them aside. This step ensures the veggies stay crisp and full of flavor.

2-Next, add the remaining vegetable oil to the pan and turn the heat to high. Season the thinly sliced flank steak with salt and pepper, then cook it for 5-6 minutes until it’s lightly browned. Add the minced garlic and ginger, stirring for about 30 seconds to release their aroma.

3-Now, return the peppers to the pan and mix everything together. In a small bowl, whisk the soy sauce, sugar, 1/4 cup water, and cornstarch until smooth. Pour this sauce over the meat and vegetables, letting it simmer for 2-3 minutes until it thickens. Serve it right away, perhaps over steamed rice for a complete dish.

Notes

πŸ”ͺ Partially freeze flank steak for 20-30 minutes before slicing to make thin cuts easier.
πŸ₯© Sirloin steak can be used as a substitute for flank steak.
πŸ₯¦ Customize the dish by adding other vegetables like onions or tomatoes.
πŸ”₯ Oven cooking is possible but may reduce sear quality and cause dryness if cooked too long.
🍚 Serve over steamed rice for a complete meal.
