πŸͺ Oreo Balls are a quick and easy treat combining the classic flavor of chocolate sandwich cookies with creamy cream cheese for a perfect bite-sized dessert.
🍫 Coated in smooth melted chocolate, these truffles offer a delightful texture contrast and endless customization with various toppings.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 45 minutes
  • Yield: About 36 truffles

Ingredients

– 36 regular chocolate sandwich cookies (with cream filling)

– 8 ounces (approximately 227 grams) of full-fat brick cream cheese softened to room temperature

– 12 ounces (about 340 grams) of semi-sweet or white chocolate coarsely chopped

– 1/2 teaspoon of vegetable oil or coconut oil

– Optional garnishes such as sprinkles or crushed cookie crumbs

Instructions

1-First, Gather and Prepare Your Ingredients: Start by collecting all the ingredients: 36 regular chocolate sandwich cookies, softened cream cheese, chopped chocolate, oil, and any garnishes. Make sure your tools, like a food processor and mixing bowl, are ready to go for smooth execution.

2-Crush and Mix the Base: Crush the whole cookies, including the filling, into fine crumbs using a food processor or blender. Then, combine the crumbs with the softened cream cheese using a mixer or food processor until the mixture is evenly blended and holds together well.

3-Shape and Chill the Balls: Scoop about 1 tablespoon (18-22 grams) of the mixture and roll it into balls by hand. Place these balls on trays lined with parchment paper and refrigerate them for at least 1 hour or freeze for 30 minutes to firm up.

4-Melt and Dip for the Finishing Touch: Melt the chopped chocolate with the oil in 20-second increments using a microwave or double boiler until it’s smooth, then let it cool for 5 minutes. Dip the chilled balls into the melted chocolate using a fork or dipping tool, tap off any excess, and set them on parchment paper. Add optional garnishes right away while the chocolate is still wet, and refrigerate again until the coating sets fully.

Notes

πŸͺ Use regular sandwich cookies, not extra filling varieties, to avoid overly wet mixture.
🍫 Use baking chocolate bars instead of chips for smoother coating and better texture.
❄️ Keep the balls cold while dipping to prevent them from falling apart; reheat chocolate briefly if it hardens too fast.
