Ingredients
– 1 cup honey
– 2 to 3 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
– 1 fresh jalapeño pepper, sliced
– 1 to 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar (optional)
– 1 to 2 teaspoons red wine vinegar (optional)
Instructions
1-Combine the honey and hot peppers in a medium sauté pan or saucepan to begin the infusion process.
2-Heat over medium heat until the honey just begins to simmer lightly, stirring to blend the flavors evenly.
3-Remove from heat and let the mixture rest for 10 to 15 minutes, allowing the heat to infuse fully.
4-Taste and adjust spiciness by adding more peppers or letting it sit longer if needed.
5-Strain the honey through a fine mesh strainer into a clean jar to remove the peppers.
6-If using, stir in the vinegar evenly for added tang.

🍯 Choose local honey for the best flavor profile and to support your local beekeepers and community
🌡️ For a milder heat, reduce the pepper flakes to 1 teaspoon; for extra spice, increase to 4 teaspoons or add a sliced jalapeño
⏰ The longer you let the peppers infuse in the warm honey, the spicier it will become – taste every 5 minutes during the resting period
