1 1/2 cups ketchup
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce or tamari/soy sauce
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
1 tablespoon paprika

4 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 cup water or chicken stock

Notes

🌡️ The sauce mellows and blends in flavor after refrigeration; initially, it may taste spicy and vinegary.
🍽️ Use tamari or soy sauce as a gluten-free or vegetarian-friendly option instead of Worcestershire sauce.
🌶️ Increase the sauce’s spiciness by adding cayenne pepper or hot sauce.
