🍍 Savor the sweet and exotic taste of grilled pineapple, perfectly caramelized with a touch of spice.
🍯 A deliciously versatile dish that can be enjoyed as a dessert, side dish, or even a unique burger topping.

  • Total Time: 20 to 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1 fresh pineapple, peeled with top, bottom, and skin removed (sliced into 3/4-inch thick rings; do not core slices to prevent falling apart)
1/4 to 1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
1/2 teaspoon coarse sea salt or to taste
Optional: 1 tablespoon avocado oil or melted butter for brushing
Optional spices: pinch of chili powder or cinnamon for added flavor
Optional: fresh lime juice or other citrus juices to brighten the glaze

Instructions

1. Preheat grill to medium heat (around 350°F).
2. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar with maple syrup or honey, leaving some sugar grains intact for texture. Add optional spices or citrus juice if desired.
3. Slice pineapple into rings about 3/4 inch thick. Do not core the slices to keep them intact.
4. Brush pineapple slices lightly with avocado oil or melted butter if using. Spread the brown sugar mixture evenly on both sides of each slice.
5. Place pineapple slices on the grill grates and cook for 4 to 8 minutes per side, depending on preferred doneness and char level, closing the grill lid during cooking.
6. Optionally, brush excess glaze or marinade over pineapple during grilling for extra flavor.
7. Once grilled, transfer pineapple to a serving plate and sprinkle lightly with coarse sea salt.
