Ingredients
4 halibut fillets or steaks (about 4 ounces each)
3 tablespoons melted butter
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon soy sauce or coconut aminos
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
Optional toppings: garlic thyme butter, fresh herb sauces (parsley, basil, thyme), lemon wedges, crushed red pepper, dried oregano
Instructions
1. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, honey, lemon juice, soy sauce, black pepper, and minced garlic to make the glaze.
2. Cut the halibut into 4 portions if not already done. Brush both sides with the glaze.
3. Preheat a pan or grill to high heat and sear halibut for 90 seconds per side.
4. Lower heat to medium and continue cooking for another 2 to 4 minutes per side, until fish flakes easily.
5. Alternatively, grill on oiled grates at 375°F, flipping after 5 to 7 minutes, until internal temperature reaches 145°F.
6. Serve with optional toppings like garlic thyme butter or fresh herbs.
