πŸ”₯ Enjoy the perfect balance of flavors with juicy grilled chicken!
πŸ”₯ Ideal for any barbecue or casual dinner night.

  • Total Time: 4 hours 21 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

– 1ΒΎ lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts

– 6 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

– 4 large garlic cloves, minced

– 1 teaspoon dried thyme

– Β½ teaspoon dried oregano

– 1ΒΌ teaspoons salt

– Β½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

– 1Β½ teaspoons lemon zest

Instructions

1-First Step: Prep the Chicken Place each chicken breast in a zip-lock bag and pound evenly to about Β½-inch (1.27 cm) thickness using a meat mallet, rolling pin, or heavy saucepan. This ensures even cooking and prevents drying out.

2-Second Step: Make the Marinade In a separate large zip-lock bag, combine 6 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, minced garlic, dried thyme, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and lemon zest. Mix well to create the flavorful marinade.

3-Third Step: Marinate the Chicken Add the flattened chicken breasts to the marinade bag, seal securely, and massage the marinade into the meat until evenly coated. Place the bag flat inside a bowl to avoid leakage, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or preferably overnight. This step is crucial for tender, flavorful chicken.

4-Fourth Step: Prepare the Grill Preheat your grill to high heat. Thoroughly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking and encourage attractive grill marks. This preparation ensures optimal cooking and an excellent sear.

5-Fifth Step: Grill the Chicken Place the marinated chicken breasts on the grill and cover. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, avoiding frequent flipping. If the chicken sticks initially, wait an extra 30 seconds before turning it will release naturally when ready. Maintain juiciness by not overcooking.

6-Final Step: Rest and Serve Remove the chicken from the grill and allow it to rest for 3 to 4 minutes. Resting helps retain the juices, resulting in tender, flavorful meat. Slice and serve with your favorite sides or incorporate into salads, sandwiches, or stir fry dishes.
