🧀 Enjoy crispy, cheesy delight with Cheese Stuffed Doritos, a perfect snack packed with bold flavors and gooey mozzarella.
🌶️ This recipe combines spicy chips and melty cheese for a unique, flavorful treat that’s sure to impress at parties or as a tasty snack.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 24 pieces

Ingredients

– 400g block of low-moisture mozzarella cheese (recommended type for melting)

– 180g spicy flavored chips (or another spicy flavor)

– 1 liter vegetable or sunflower oil for deep frying

– 50g flour

– 2 eggs, beaten

– 1 tsp smoked paprika

– 1 tsp cayenne pepper

– 1/2 tsp garlic powder

– 1/4 tsp salt

– 1/4 tsp black pepper

– Additional flaky sea salt for serving

Instructions

1-Getting started with Fried Cheese Stuffed Doritos: set up your space and follow a straightforward process. Begin by shredding or cutting your cheese and crushing the chips to get things ready. This helps everything come together smoothly for a fun cooking experience.

2-First: cut the mozzarella cheese into 1/3 inch thick squares, then slice diagonally into triangles to get approximately 24 pieces. Next, crush the spicy chips into breadcrumb-sized pieces using a food processor or by placing them in a zip-lock bag and crushing with a rolling pin or by hand over a bowl. Prepare three shallow dishes: one with flour mixed with smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper; another with beaten eggs; and the third with crushed chips.

3-Coat each cheese triangle first in the seasoned flour, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat thoroughly in the crushed chips. Place coated pieces aside and let them rest for 10-15 minutes to allow the coating to adhere properly. Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 180°C (350°F), fry in batches for 1-2 minutes or until cheese starts to leak out, being careful not to overcrowd, then drain on a wire rack over paper towels and sprinkle with salt immediately. Serve warm with dipping sauces such as sour cream, guacamole, or salsa for the best results.

Notes

🧀 Mozzarella is perfect for melting; other cheeses may need double coating to prevent leaking.
🔺 Triangular slices are traditional, but other shapes like mini balls or sticks work well too.
🍳 Double dipping in egg and chips creates a thicker, crunchier crust but takes more time and can be messier.
