πŸ— This Cajun Chicken and Shrimp Pasta with Creamy Spiced Sauce combines tender chicken and shrimp with bold Cajun flavors for a satisfying and hearty meal.
🍝 It’s quick to prepare and perfect for a flavorful weeknight dinner that brings a delicious spicy twist to classic pasta dishes.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

– 1 pound bite-size pasta (e.g., fusilli, bowtie, rotini, penne)

– 2 tablespoons olive oil

– 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined

– 1 pound chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces

– 1 small yellow onion, chopped into ΒΌ-inch pieces (about ΒΎ cup)

– 3 garlic cloves, minced

– 2 bell peppers (assorted colors), chopped into Β½-inch pieces (about 2 cups)

– 1 cup heavy cream

– 2 to 3 tablespoons Cajun seasoning (adjust to desired heat)

Instructions

1-First, cook the pasta in heavily salted water until it’s just right, then set aside half a cup of the water before draining. This reserved water helps adjust the sauce later, keeping everything moist and tasty.

2-Next, rinse and dry the shrimp to get that perfect sear.

3-Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet and cook the shrimp for 1-2 minutes per side until they’re pink, then move them to a bowl. Add the rest of the oil and cook the chicken with some Cajun seasoning for 5-6 minutes until it’s done.

4-Stir in the onion, garlic, and bell peppers, cooking for about 5 minutes until soft, and use a splash of water to lift those flavorful bits from the pan. Pour in the heavy cream and more seasoning, simmering to thicken. Toss the pasta into the sauce, add the proteins and veggies back in, and heat through for a complete dish. Serve it hot, and feel free to add fresh parsley for a nice touch.
