🍳 Start your day with a hearty, protein-rich Breakfast Casserole that combines fluffy biscuits, savory sausage, and melted cheese.
🧀 This casserole is easy to prepare ahead and perfect for feeding a crowd or busy mornings.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1 16-ounce can of jumbo biscuits

12 ounces of breakfast sausage

8 large eggs

1 cup of milk (can be 1%, 2%, or whole)

1 cup of shredded sharp cheddar or Colby Jack cheese

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1-First: preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. This helps prevent sticking and makes cleanup easier. Press the biscuit dough firmly into the bottom of the dish, using halves if needed to cover it evenly, creating a solid base for the other layers.

2-Next: cook and crumble the 12 ounces of breakfast sausage in a frying pan until it’s browned, then drain the grease to keep the casserole from getting too oily. Spread the cooked sausage evenly over the biscuit layer for that savory flavor throughout.

3-In a bowl, beat together the 8 large eggs, 1 cup of milk, salt, and pepper until well mixed. Pour this mixture over the biscuits and sausage to bind everything together. Top it all with the 1 cup of shredded sharp cheddar or Colby Jack cheese for a melty finish.

4-Bake the casserole uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes, and if the top starts to brown too quickly, cover it with foil to keep it perfect. Once done, let it stand for 5 minutes before cutting into squares to serve. This recipe is versatile, so feel free to add sautéed vegetables or make it vegetarian with meatless sausage for your taste.
