Ingredients

– 1 lb ground beef (80/20 for juiciness)

– 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

– 1 large egg

– 1/4 cup finely diced onion

– 2 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

– 1 tsp salt

– 1/2 tsp black pepper

– 1 cup bourbon BBQ sauce

– 6 slices bacon, cooked crisp and chopped

– 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

– 4 hoagie or sub rolls

– Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

– Ground beef

– Shredded sharp cheddar

– Hoagie rolls

Instructions

1-Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2-In a large bowl, combine 1 lb ground beef, 1/2 cup breadcrumbs, 1 large egg, 1/4 cup finely diced onion, 2 cloves garlic minced, 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce, 1 tsp salt, and 1/2 tsp black pepper. Mix gently.

3-Roll into 1 1/2-inch meatballs and bake for 15-18 minutes until cooked through.

4-Warm 1 cup bourbon BBQ sauce in a skillet over low heat.

5-Transfer meatballs to the skillet and coat them in sauce.

6-Place 4-5 meatballs in each of 4 hoagie rolls, top with 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese and chopped bacon from 6 slices.

7-Broil on a baking sheet for 2-3 minutes until cheese melts, then garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
