🫐 Enjoy tender and buttery Blueberry Butter Biscuits with fresh blueberries that offer a sweet and satisfying breakfast or snack.
🍰 This easy recipe includes a step-by-step video guide to help you create golden, flaky biscuits topped with a luscious glaze.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 9 biscuits

Ingredients

– ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter

– 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

– ¼ cup granulated sugar

– 1 tablespoon baking powder (aluminum-free if you have it)

– ½ teaspoon salt

– 1 ¾ to 2 cups buttermilk (or use heavy cream as a substitute)

– 1 ½ cups blueberries (fresh ones work best, but if you’re using frozen, thaw and dry them first)

– 1 cup powdered sugar for the glaze

– 2-3 tablespoons milk for the glaze

Instructions

1-First: preheat your oven to 450°F and spray your baking dish to prevent sticking. This step sets the stage for perfectly baked biscuits every time. Next, melt the ½ cup of unsalted butter and pour it into the prepared dish, creating that signature “swim” effect.

2-In a large bowl, mix together the 2 ½ cups of all-purpose flour, ¼ cup of granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and ½ teaspoon of salt until everything is well combined. Gradually stir in 1 ¾ to 2 cups of buttermilk to form a sticky dough, adding a bit more if it feels too dry.

3-Gently fold in the 1 ½ cups of blueberries to keep them intact and avoid a mushy texture. Spread the dough evenly over the melted butter in the dish, then cut it into 9 squares right in the pan.

4-Bake the biscuits for 25 to 30 minutes, rotating the dish halfway through for even browning.

5-Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick it should come out clean when they’re ready.

6-While the biscuits cool slightly, whip up the glaze by mixing 1 cup of powdered sugar with 2-3 tablespoons of milk until smooth.

7-Drizzle the glaze over the warm biscuits and let it set for a few minutes before serving.
