🥓 Savor the delicious combination of crispy bacon and melty cheese in these satisfying Bacon Cheeseburger Pockets.
🍔 Perfect for family meals or snacks, these pockets are easy to make, portable, and full of rich flavors everyone will love.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 to 6 pockets

Ingredients

– 1 lb (about 454 g) extra lean ground beef (you can substitute with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option)

– 4 strips of bacon, chopped

– ½ cup finely diced onion

– 1 cup shredded cheese

– One ball of whole wheat pizza dough or one can of refrigerated pizza dough (for wrapping the filling)

Instructions

1-First, brown the 1 lb of extra lean ground beef, 4 strips of chopped bacon, and ½ cup of finely diced onion together until everything is nicely cooked. Be sure to drain any excess fat to keep the pockets from getting too greasy. Once that’s done, stir in the 1 cup of shredded cheese over low heat until it melts, creating a gooey filling that’s hard to beat.

2-Next, roll out the dough whether it’s from one ball of whole wheat pizza dough or a can of refrigerated pizza dough on a floured surface. Cut it into four to six portions and flatten each one. Place a scoop of the beef mixture in the center of each piece, leaving a border around the edges.

3-Sealing and Baking Steps: Moisten the edges with a bit of water, fold the dough over the filling, and pinch the edges to seal them tightly. This keeps all the goodness inside. Place the pockets on a greased baking sheet, brush them with olive oil for a better texture and color, and bake at 400°F for 15-20 minutes until they’re golden brown.

4-Once out of the oven, let them cool briefly and serve with ketchup and mustard for dipping. These steps make the pockets kid-friendly and easy to handle. If you’re into grilling, check out our guide on grilled beef burgers for more ideas on perfecting burger flavors.
